Our flight left at 7 AM and we couldn't load the cruise ship until noon
so we got a bus tour of Seattle. This is looking across to downtown.
Seattle
It was a beautiful morning!!
Traveling with a bunch of water engineers, you have to go
see the locks!
The locks and fish ladder. I must admit, it was pretty cool :)
We found some good seats to sit and wait for us to leave!
Doesn't he look thrilled to have another picture taken?!?!
Leaving Seattle behind (I liked that I got the ship's flag with this one)
Last shot of us with Seattle
I liked that another cruise ship was following in our wake.
And we're off!
First formal night
Our first stop, Ketchikan!!
We decided to splurge and go flightseeing to the Misty Fjords!
This was our little plane :)
I sat alone in the back...
While Kam got to be copilot!
I loved this view with all the cruise ships lined up
Clouds clinging to the mountains
Eddystone Rock
A mountain lake with a waterfall. Just gorgeous!
More of the clinging clouds :}
We landed at the head of Rudyerd Bay and got to stand outside on
the float of the plane. What an experience!
I didn't trust that I wouldn't drop my camera, though, so no pictures :(
There are seriously about 50-75 more pictures from this but I can't put them all on here!
It was so beautiful, pictures and words don't do it justice!
Wandering around Ketchikan we found this little totem.
Cruising through the Tracy Arm Fjord.
We had to get up early for this and it was cold!!
The glacier is just peaking out at the top.
Look at all the ice in the water! BRRR!
Us and the glacier. I really wish I could remember the name of it...
This is where the ship turned around so we got a great view of the glacier!
What a site!!
Juneau- we had to have a cheaper port so we wandered around on our own walking tour.
We found the state capitol building...
And the Governor's house.
It was only drizzling :)
Kam only got a picture here because I made him :)
Some of our group on the train for the company excursion.
In Skagway, they have the White Pass Railroad which was a great tour.
Most everyone from the company came and we had our own dedicated cars!
Waiting for the train ride!
Skagway is a cute little town.
The front of our train.
Heading into the tunnel
The view looking back to where we started!
The old trussel bridge. It was too foggy to see it until it was right there.
I'm proud of this picture :)
Standing outside the train car.
The mountain peaks
Classic Alaska- beautiful scenery :)
Picture with the train
Yay Canada! Our last port was Victoria.
This stop was in the evening so we didn't have a lot of time.
Plus, we wanted to be cheap here too.
So, we shared a cab with some friends and we walked around the city.
The Empress Hotel. This is where the cab dropped us off.
The Empress Hotel. What a beautiful old building.
The gate to Chinatown!
I just had to get my picture taken with the creepy man statue!
Harbor view at sunset
Wow!
Parliament building
Wandering around Beacon Hill Park. It started getting dark so we
didn't spend a ton of time in here.
Beautiful flower garden
Too dark to see all the beautiful flowers behind us!
Since our plane didn't for about 8 hours after we got
off the ship, we got to spend more time in Seattle.
We went to the Space Needle.
Kam and I have both been up top so we didn't
pay to go again.
We wanted to go in here and see the glass sculptures,
but it was closed so this is all we saw.
We wandered around, read our books and then
the bus took us to Pike's Market where we spent an
hour before going to the airport.
It really was a wonderful trip! I am so glad we could go and that Grant did fine without us :) Now we just have to wait until next year to find out where the next company trip will take us!!
