New House!

Kam and I started looking at houses to buy soon after we came back from Hawaii.  We had planned on staying in our condo for a couple more years but felt that it would be better for us to buy before the housing market really recovered.  So, with the help of our realtor, we started looking.  At first we just looked online but then we found enough we wanted to see in person, so off we went.  Sadly, we were pretty disappointed with most of them.  It was kind of sad to see how little our money could really buy! While I was in Connecticut, we found a new house listing online that we liked.  SO, Kam went and saw it the next day, put an offer on it (without me seeing it, obviously!), flew out to join me in Connecticut, and by the time he got there, we were under contract!!  Honestly, it was very exciting but also scary for me, especially since I hadn't seen it.  However, we had been to enough houses that Kam knew what I would like and what I wouldn't.  Also, our realtor is a friend and I trusted her when she said it was a good one.  After we got back home, Grant and I got to go see the house and then I was just excited.  Everything went smoothly with the inspection and closing and I know we're in the right place for us now!  We closed at the beginning of June but didn't move in until the end of the month because Kam put new flooring in the kitchen and painted.  After a few weeks, I got frustrated still being in the condo but it was worth not being in the mess at the house.  I worked the day we moved in so Kam had to take the lead (ironic, since he bought the house without me too!)  I couldn't have lifted and helped much anyway so it was a good thing, and Grant had fun at one of our friends' house!

Here are some pictures of our house.  These are just the "before" pictures.  I haven't taken any "after" pictures yet because I still haven't gotten pictures up on the walls and there's still a few boxes that haven't been emptied.  I blame it on the pregnancy ;)  I also don't have a picture of the basement since it's not finished yet.

 Grant loved running around the empty house!

 The master bedroom.  It's not huge but it works for us :)

 The master bathroom.  Not gonna lie, I was super
excited about having a master bath!

 One of the 2 smaller bedrooms.  We painted this one orange!!

 The other bedroom, it's hard to get a good picture- it's
really not this tiny!

 Laundry room and door to the garage!!  I was
so excited to have a laundry room, not closet!!

 The kitchen/dining area.  I LOVE my island :)

 So happy to have so much space to run!!

I realized I never took a picture of the front of the house
so I ran out and took this.  Unfortunately, I didn't grab shoes
so I couldn't go any further back for a picture of the
whole thing :}
