Whenever I run into people I haven't seen for awhile (which isn't extremely often anymore since I don't get out a lot!), the question that always comes up is "What's new?" or "What have you been up to?" I must admit, I'm one to ask these very questions. However, if they already know I had a baby, then I don't have much else to tell them! I spend most days at home, I work twice a month (which I can't talk too much about because of HIPAA) and I have fun with my baby. I don't think they want to hear all about my amazing son and his bowel movement routine or the all the fun with trying different foods. So what do I say? "Hmm, not much!" What a life I lead. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE my life and I LOVE being a stay at home mom, but I feel like I had a lot more to say when I was still single (all those lovely dating stories!), working, and traveling. Let's just say I've been struggling with this whole new identity thing that comes along with being a mom. I never realized it could be such a difficult adjustment but it's all worth it for this little guy.

Seriously, how can that little face not make you smile?
So, although there may seem to be not much going on, life is good and I enjoy watching my son reach milestones and learn new things. And, as President Hinckley said (thank you Feb VT message), "No other work reaches so close to divinity as does the nurturing of the sons and daughters of God." I just need to remember that and be thankful for this short time when there isn't a lot going on to distract me from my little family!
